Personal Statement

 

It is my pleasure that I can introduce myself to you who has visited this blog.

 

First, I have thorough knowledge and experience in corporate investigations.  I had been a member of the special investment department throughout my career as a prosecutor.  It was essential for me to understand the mechanism of corporations in order to investigate the criminal cases of the corporations. Those who had experience of corporation investigation can expect the attack method and protect the corporation.  In addition, I am familiar with tax codes and cases through numerous corporation tax investigations.  I would like to dedicate such ability to protect corporations from government investigation.

 

             Second, I am a skilled criminal defense and civil lawyer.  After resigning as a prosecutor, I mainly treated not only criminal cases but also numerous civil and business cases.  I researched relative cases and developed my knowledge and litigation skills for the civil and business cases. As a result, I won many high profile cases.

 

             Third, I have a strong sense of firm management.  As I managed my own law firm with several employees as an owner, I understand how a firm is operated and how to harmonize the members of the firm.

 

             Lastly, I believe that I am a prepared lawyer for the global age.  I have knowledge of both U.S. and Korean law and have passed the bar exam in Korea and New York.  As a Korean attorney, I had practiced at Bae, Kim and Lee law firm in Korea which is the second largest law firm in Korea.  I had also gained experience at Wagners law firm in Halifax NS, Canada.  At Northwestern, I had mainly studied corporate laws such as course in corporation, partnership, entrepreneurship law, contracts, intellectual property, and international business transactions.  Among these course, International Business Transactions which was a course regarding international M&A, dealt with real cases between Hungary and USA.  In addition, I had attended the Finance Purpose English course which was provided by Canadian Government (MISA) for the MBA foreign experts for five months.

 

             All of these experiences have served to enhance my understanding of the legal system and prepared me to become an asset for my clients.
